My Favorite Moments – Featuring Echo Park Simple Life Collection

By Cards

Hi all,

Happy Monday! Today was a fabulous day of warm weather and a nice spring breeze. After such a rainy week last week I was ready to get back into the swing of things in the craft room and create a new card for you.

Today’s card was created using papers and dies from the Simple Life Collection by Echo Park. I love the quality and colors of this collection. I wanted to create this type of card to show that card making and crafting doesn’t mean you need to have a TON of products, sometimes, things can come together quite easily if you find little collections or packs of paper that already coordinate for you. I found this pack at my local Tuesday Morning! I love that store!

For this card I used 2 sheets of 12×12 paper and a die-cut sticker.

For some added interest I included a strip of green paisley washi tape across the back and tied some gold cord on top.

Thanks for stopping by and see you again tomorrow for another idea on using collection packs to create cards!

Sending Lots of Love – Heating Embossing

CS4_participant

Hi All,

For the next week I am participating in an awesome card class hosted by Online Card Classes. The class focuses on fun ways to create clean & simple cards for card makers.

I loved several of the techniques demonstrated today, and decided to give one a try. It was a technique in off-stamping. Meaning to stamp an image once in one color ink, and then stamp again slightly off to the side of the previously stamped image. I loved this technique because it makes images pop in almost a 3D way and gives lots of dimension.

Here’s my card demonstrating one of today’s techniques:

I love the way this turned out! I used stamps and supplies from a Simon Says card kit I received a few months ago. I off stamped the envelope-stripe border around the edges and the sentiment and then gold embossed.

I can’t wait to see what they have in store for the participants tomorrow ~ but I’m sure I’ll be inspired to keep creating.

Classroom Set Valentines – Punny Valentines

By Cards

valetine_mini_cards_01

Hi all,

I’m working on some classroom valentines. Here are some ‘punny’ ones I made featuring some cute dimensional critters, washi tape and a couple of my favorite cardstocks!

The sentiments read:

Will you bee mine? – to use with all bee images

You make my heart flutter! – great to use for any critter with wings

I pick you, Valentine! – to use on any flowers

Thanks for stopping by and see you again real soon!

Stronger Together – Border Cuts

By Cards

CS4_participantHi All,

Welcome back to another day of clean & simple cards. Once again I was blown away by the amazing talent of cardmakers out there. This class has been phenomenal in teaching me all sorts of new techniques.

Today I wanted to try my hands at using a border to break up an image. I had a bit of a hard time coming up with a sentiment that would work, but found one that was a bit fun.

I used Hero Arts shadow inks to create the hombre look on each panel & a Simon Says Stamp set called Paper Hug for my sentiment. I loved the little paperclip heart and wanted to incorporate some paperclips into the design. I happened to have some colored clips on hand and thought it pulled everything together perfectly.

Here’s my card for day 2:
