Holiday Cards 2014 – Day 6

By Cards

Hi All,

I’m back with a new card & video for you!

snowman_birds

Today’s card features some quick digital cuts made on my silhouette sd cutting machine. This type of card is a prime example of a card that takes more time to conceptualize then actually create. Once the cuts were made, it all came together so quickly!

Here’s how I made it:

Supplies:

Cardstock: Neenah Desert Storm Environmental Cardstock and Bazzil frost white

Snowflake: American Crafts 6×6 holiday stack

Misc: Tag, banner and brown pen

Holiday Cards 2014 – Day 5

By Cards

Hi all,

Happy Monday! I’m back with Day 5 of Holiday Cards!

christmas_snowman

Today’s card was created using some wood veneer snowflakes, wood grain dry embossed papers & a magical snowman. I used the 2 tones of woodgrain to create a simple snowbank for the snowman to sit on. To give the snow a bit more dimension it was watercolored with a very light shade of blue. How decked out is this snowman!? I think he’s pretty spectacular! Honestly, this just might be my favorite card yet!

More fun and crafts coming for you tomorrow. See you then!

Supplies:

Cardstock: Paper Place Light Brown and White Dry Embossed Woodgrain

Snowflakes: Studio Calico Wood Veneer

Misc: Snowman, Light Blue watercolor, adhesives & Christmas sentiment

Holiday Cards 2014 – Day 4

By Cards

Hi All,

Welcome to Day 4!

holiday_wishes

Today’s card was entirely handmade/painted. I’ve seen many cards created in a similar fashion using holiday stamps, however, I don’t own any big wreath stamp sets. Instead, I used Tim Holtz distress markers which react with water to create a watercolor type feel. I love the control you get from using a blending ink rather than actual paint.

For ideas on how this was created, stay tuned for tomorrow’s post. It uses the same concept, but I have a different image to share! 😉

See you next time and have a great weekend!

Holiday Cards 2014 – Day 3

By Cards

Welcome to day 3 of my Holiday Card Series 2014!

christmas_reindeer

This card is created in a similar fashion to yesterday’s tree card. This time instead of a tree design I simply created a reindeer cut-out shape. Next, I added a red offset to each of the cuts. Same concept as yesterday but a completely different look!

For the reindeer I heat embossed the green color using a pearl emerald color. Can you tell it isn’t as ‘flat’ as the papers? That’s my trick to making him stand out 😉

Hope you’re enjoying the series and I’ll see you next time for Day 4!
