Kit to Cards featuring Simon Says Stamp April Card Kit

By Cards

Hi all,

For this project, I wanted to challenge myself into using a good portion of a card kit to see just how many cards I could make. I have been a long time subscriber to the Simon Says Stamp card kit and love the quality of products they include in those kits. I wanted to dive into this month’s kit and create some cards to share with you. As I state in the video, there are a TON of supplies left over and this is just a few of the cards I created. Working with a kit is great in that you really don’t have to worry about coordinating colors and patterns — that part is already done for you!

You may wonder how long it took me to create these cards? I created these over the course of 3 days and had about 6 hours of footage to work through. A majority of that time was spent brainstorming, and clearly, I have edited that down to a shorter video for you!

Here’s a look at 10 cards I made. Enjoy!

Hand Cut & Stitched Sketchbook and Journal

By Planner Stationary & Accessories

Hello all,

I’m so excited to share a fun project I created the other day! I have always been drawn to fun prints and textures when it comes to stationary and notebooks. I try to keep things lively and colorful to brighten up my desk or work space. So the other day as I was looking at some sketch paper and chipboard I had purchased over a year ago, I decided I’d make my very own sketchbook/journal to help organize my thoughts when it comes to cardmaking and project designs.

The covers are 7 gypsies Nouveau book covers. The interior papers are creme cardstock from 7 gypsies as well. I trimmed down the cardstocks to match the book (approximately 7″ x 5.5″).

The bookcovers were covered with atg and then wrapped with papers from the Echo Park 12×12 Simple Life collection.

I did the same on thing to the back.  Then, I hand-punched holes throughout each page so that I could loop through some gold thread.

I absolutely LOVE the way the gold thread shows threw while the book is open.

And here’s the finished beauty resting on top of some of my other notebooks I have on my desk. These notebooks are seriously my all time favorites!

Online Card Class – Day 5

By Cards

onlinecardclass

Hi all,

We so we’ve officially completed a week of online card class and I think it was jam packed with awesomeness. Today’s focus was on stretching stamps in a way that is a little different then it’s initial use or changing the center focus of the stamp. I decided to look into my Christmas stamps and see if any of them could double for something else. The wreath here is from my Christmas Sentiments stamp set, but with a change in color – it looks very bright.

Here is my card:

Hi All,

Wow, how quickly time has flown into the second week of card camp! We’re on to week two and once again I am fully engulfed in all the awesome designs and techniques being shared over on the class blog. I’ve got to say this was one of the best choices I made in joining this class.

Here is this week’s color combo challenge:

Week 2 Color Combo

Here is the card I came up with. I’m super happy with the way it turned out. I can see my skills growing and aim to only get better when it comes to balance and contrast in card making.
