Online Card Class – Day 8

By Cards

onlinecardclass

Hi all,

Today marks day 8 of the online card class and I”m excited to try the newest technique I have learned. It involves using salt after watercolor/distressing. I used it on the tricolored piece of watercolor paper on my card and am intriqued by the results. I do like the effect, however, I think if I had used darker colors it would have been more dramatic. Anyhow, I think it’s an awesome technique and will keep it in mind for future cards.

Here is my card for day 8

Hi all,

We’re on day 9 and I am blown away by the cards presented in today’s class. Jennifer McGuire introduced me to the world of pleated cards and I just had to try out the technique for myself. I think this card is by far my favorite for the week and I am so excited to adapt it to a project I am working on for the upcoming month.

Here is my card and new technique demonstrated for day 9:

Online Card Class – Day 10

By Cards

onlinecardclass

Hi All,

Well, this post marks the end of the second week of Online Card Class, I am so sad to see the class nearing its end =(. I have learned SO much from this class and can’t even believe the number of cards that were contributed to the galleries for additional inspiration. For today’s assignment we were asked to make multiple cards using 1 stamp set. I used the Follow Your Heart stamp set by My Minds Eye to create my 3 cards. Here they are!

Card One:

For this card I used the banner stamp to create a road sign and cut the “enjoy the journey” apart to create 3 separate stamps for a bike trail. Also, I used a blacked-out ticket stamp in a repeated fashion to create the brick pattern on the bottom of the card. I absolutely love the way it turned out. Super simple, but effective!

KW Class Day 10 #2

Card Two:

For card two I used used the light bulb stamp in a staggered way to create visual significance and hand wrote a sentiment. I then covered the bulbs in glossy accents for extra shine. Super simple!

Card Three:

Added some paper to the background and repeatedly stamped the banner. I then stamped the light bulb onto a polka dot patterned paper to get “colored bulbs” and hung them upside down. I then covered the bulbs with some diamond stickles so they create a soft shine/glow!

Week One Summer Card Camp Series – Color Challenge

By Cards

Hi all!

Today I’m excited to share a project I made in conjunction with summer card camp over at onlinecardclasses. It’s only been a few days since the camp started but I have already learned so much! I love about the technicalities to creating cards and other craft projects. In class, each week students are given a color challenge in which he or she has to use the color scheme provided to create a project.

Here is the scheme for week 1.

Here is the card I came up with using the themes and techniques used by the teachers themselves. I enjoyed learning about layering shapes and designs and how to group images. So interesting!

Hello Summer

Thanks for learning with me and stopping by!
