Holiday Cards – Day 7

Welcome back to a new week of Holiday Cards for this 2017 season. I am on day 7 and have a simple card idea that really anyone can do. All you really need is some basic paper supplies and maybe some pencils or markers to decorate and you too can create this type of card.

To create my card I used some printed vellum I have had in my stash for quite some time. It actually comes from a valentine’s themed stack from Cosmo Cricket. It was from a release a few years ago and I think is now entirely out of stock. I think vellum or a thin paper is actually best for this type of project.

First, you’ll need to cut down your paper into a few squares. Mine was 3, 2.5, 2, and 1.5-inch squares. I then folded my paper in half and then folded the corners up to the middle fold line to create triangles.

I hope you give this type of card a try. You could even change the overall dimensions to make this a fun gift tag to add on top your wrapped gifts this holiday season.

Holiday Cards – Day 4

Welcome back to another day of Holiday cards. I hope you’re enjoying following along with all the little projects I’ve been making.

One of my favorite things to do when designing cards are to create a simple layout that can easily be duplicated. Today’s cards are a prime example of easy to duplicate styles.

For these cards, I used minimal supplies. I used a nice thin washi tape that reminds me of a candy stripe. I then added several coordinating stickers that are beautifully opaque and thick from American Crafts. I found the collection to have many styles and patterns that I liked — so I decided to create several variations of cards.

Gift Card Holders

Welcome back! Today I wanted to share with you a fun little way I’ve been using to wrap gift cards. I’m the type person that likes to put a personal touch on each and every item I gift to another person and gift cards are no exception. Depending on the individual, I try to find a coordinating pattern (or create one) of gift wrap to suit his or her personality. The ones shown here are by Bella Lux. I am in love with the beautiful watercolor themes they create!

There are many tutorials online that feature origami folding and ways to create pockets for letters. Several of those are great ways to wrap a gift as well! There is no glue or paste involved in this project. It is simply a matter of cutting a sheet of 8.25″ square paper and folding it to create this pocket. To clean up the inside I just cut a sheet of craft paper to size to fit.

To close the holder I went with a simple white grosgrain ribbon which I tied into a bow and trimmed the edges.

How simple and fun are these?

Organization Tip on Floss Storage

Hi All,

I’ve been working away at reorganizing my craft room and destashing some items. Things are looking pretty awesome but along the way I found that I needed to get a little resourceful on the way I was organizing some items. When it comes to ribbon, threads or yarns in a craftroom it is so easy for me to have a big ‘ol tangled mess of fibers. To clean up this area in my craftroom I grabbed just 2 simple supplies and it is by far one of my favorite storage solutions now!

Here’s what I used:
Clear rubber bands
Traditional wooden clothes pin
Clear Jar
